Is there an age limit to participate in Young Creators?

Our community and events are open to everyone who is young at heart and has a passion for innovation and creativity. We encourage creators of all ages to join and contribute to our dynamic community, but will always give priority to young people under 27 at events.

General

What is an entrepreneurial creator?

In our view, everyone is a maker. Whether you're creating websites, marketing campaigns, clothing, photos, or limoncello doesn't matter. We consciously choose the term “entrepreneurial maker” instead of “entrepreneur”. Do you work full-time at your company? Then you are more than welcome. But even if you're still studying or working on your projects in the evenings alongside your job, Young Creators is the place for you!

Organization

Who is behind Young Creators?

Behind Young Creators is the Young Creators Foundation. The foundation was created in 2013 to play an accompanying role between the community, the Dutch start-up scene and the business community.

We are a team of 8 ambitious makers who all contribute in their own way to bringing young, entrepreneurial makers together. More about us on a new page soon.

How do you make money? Is it really free?

While access to our community is free, we generate income through collaborations, sponsored events, and sometimes through specific programs that require a small participation fee. This enables us to continue to provide valuable services and events to our members.

Community

I'm 27 or older. Is Young Creators for me?

We really see Young Creators as a springboard for young entrepreneurial creators under 27, and that's where we can offer the most value, because they usually still have a small network. We do have a WhatsApp group within the community for Young Creators “Alumni” who are generally 27+. After all, we would love to stay in touch with the experienced Young Creators, also to facilitate possible mentorships for starting entrepreneurs.

You can also register via the form on the Community page. You will receive an email with an invitation to join the group.

Who do I find in the Young Creators community?

Our community is a mix of young, ambitious creators between the ages of 16 and 27. There are people among them who have been entrepreneurs for years, others have just started freelancing, and others are thinking about starting to do business. What connects us is two things: helping each other and getting to know new people who do (much) the same as you do.

Does it cost money to join Young Creators?

At Young Creators, we believe in making opportunities accessible to all young creators. That's why we offer a wide range of gratuitous resources and events. A small contribution may be requested for some special events or programs, but this is always clearly communicated.

Where can I find the Young Creators community?

You can find us on various social platforms, such as X, Instagram, Linkedin and of course TikTok (We could use some help with that). We once started with our Facebook group with 30,000+ members. We also host regular events and meetups where you can meet fellow creatives in real life. Much more fun, in our opinion.

Why should I sign up to Young Creators?

By signing up, you will become part of the Netherlands' largest and inspiring community that celebrates creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship together. You'll get access to exclusive events, workshops, and the chance to network with like-minded young entrepreneurs and creatives — like you.

Build Weekend

What is the purpose of the Build Weekend?

The goal of the Build Weekend is to bring together young makers to create, learn, and collaborate. It’s not about working all night or chasing a perfect end product. Instead, the focus is on:

  • Learning new tools and skills (like n8n automation)
  • Meeting other creatives, techies, and entrepreneurs
  • Realising an idea in just one weekend

Think of this Building Weekend as a playground for experimentation and collaboration.

When and where is the Build Weekend?

Dates: Friday 29 November – Saturday 30 November (times TBA)

Location: StartDock Coworking, Singel 126, 1015 AE Amsterdam

Can I sleep there?

Nope, this isn’t an all-nighter hackathon, sorry! 🚫🛏️

We’ll wrap up in the evenings and start fresh the next day. That way you get to rest properly and come back with new energy.

We hope it lowers the barrier for you to join. If you are in need of a sleeping place, perhaps your team members can offer some space.

I don't have a team

No worries! Teams are formed at the beginning of the event, either through a random selection process or by allowing participants to form their own teams.

I already have a team

Great! Does the team consist of 3-5 people? Let all the team members sign up individually and register the team name in the form. If you are still looking for some team members, you can pitch your idea at the beginning of the hackathon, and recruit others for you team.

What should I bring?

Bring your own laptop, chargers, and any tools or software you need for your project. We provide dinner on Friday and breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks on Saturday.
